Madrone Salad Bowl

Madrone salad or fruit bowl with grain figure across the bowl and slight birds eye burl on one edge.   This was turned green and has the characteristic madrone movement as it dries, leaving the bowl with a distinctive character of its own.   It is slightly out of round with unusual wrinkling and a wave on the rim.   It is finished with Dalys Profin Oil and is food safe.

Approx 15″ in diameter and 4.5″ deep

Large Oak Salad Bowl

Large Oak Salad Bowl

This tree was blown over while visiting Mendicino, California.   A rare opportunity for me to turn Oak.   Although this is a conventional edge bowl, the drying process has created ovality that enhances the lip.   The natural color patches are an added attraction.   This is finished with Min Wax wipe on polyurethane and is food safe.

Approx 18″ in diameter and 6″ deep
