Curly Maple/Walnut/Bloodwood/Yellowheart Platter

Really nicely figured curly Eastern hard maple laminated with walnut, bloodwood and yellowheart to make this large platter with a bead that defines the rim. Finished with food safe polyurethane.

Large Box Elder Platter

Box elder trees are a member of the maple family and display a unique and beautiful red discoloration as a response to injuries. This large platter was finished with a food safe wipe-on poly.

Mahogany Vase with Hooked Rug Accents

This is a first of it’s kind collaborative effort between my wife (a nationally known and certified rug hooking teacher) and me. We know of no one who has previously combined these 2 art forms. The vase is mahogany and the hooking depicts Red Bluff Bay on Baranof Island in Alaska. The vase is hollow and is finished with Danish oil. This is truly one of a kind.

Set of 4 Nested Natural Edged Maple Burl Bowls

This 4 bowl nested set was all turned from the same fantastic piece of Western maple burl. Every square inch of every bowl is 100% burl figure and each was left with the natural bark edge. Finish is food safe wipe-on poly .

Bowl diameters are: 15”, 11.5”, 8 1/2” and 6”

Hollow Butternut (White Walnut) Vase

Butternut is considered the “white walnut”. This large hollow vase was turned from a piece of figured butternut.

Small Ambrosia Maple Bowl

Ambrosia maple gets it’s name from the ambrosia beetle that attacks the tree once it has been cut down. The beetle introduces a fungus which results in black stripes throughout the wood. In this bowl, the beetle holes have been left natural (not filled). Food safe Danish oil finish.

White Pine Burl Bowl

Usually, white pine is a pretty bland looking wood, but this piece of burl is the nicest piece of pine I’ve ever seen. The bowl is finished with wipe-on poly and is food safe.
