Really nicely figured curly Eastern hard maple laminated with walnut, bloodwood and yellowheart to make this large platter with a bead that defines the rim. Finished with food safe polyurethane.

Box elder trees are a member of the maple family and display a unique and beautiful red discoloration as a response to injuries. This large platter was finished with a food safe wipe-on poly.

Red Gum Laminated Platter

Some beautifully figured red gum laminated with walnut, red oak and Baltic birch plywood then turned to a platter form. Wipe-on poly food safe finish. Most people see the lower half of the platter as a rough sea and the top as a menacing sky.

Natural Edged Maple Burl Shallow Bowl/Platter

This highly figured piece of maple burl has been turned to a shallow bowl/ platter form. Some people see the natural edged outer rim as representing a fish outline. Others see another fish shape in the figure at the bottom of the bowl.
